In The Sticks

Seven brothers, twelve cats, one monkey, moonhead and the trenchy 

pigeon boy.

 

This picture book was designed for 4-6 year olds and is a simple tale of what a group of brothers get up to in a day, whilst living rurally ‘in the sticks’.

​

The book is a reflection of innocent childhood humour and individuality.

 

With hints of nostalgia and personal anecdotes incorporated into the plot, the content is relatable to all the silly little imaginations that 

children have at such an age.

​

The illustrations were drawn by hand, digitised, coloured and layered with photography, producing a cardboard-corduroy texture and adding to the overall aesthetic.
